Nurse training records

Nurses at Maternity Home opening 1931

Nurses have been receiving formal training in Oxfordshire for over 100 years, managed at first by the individual hospitals and later under the aegis of the Oxford School of Nursing. Nurse training was taken over by Oxford Brookes University in September 1990.

Historic records of nurse training (from 1891)

If you are not sure where a nurse trained, The National Archives may be able to help for nurses who served in World War I.
