Welcome to Oxfordshire Health Archives
Oxfordshire Health Archives, hosted by Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust and Oxfordshire County Council, selects and cares for the historic archives of NHS hospitals in Oxfordshire. The archives in our care include those of Oxfordshire hospitals and NHS administrative bodies, Leagues of Friends and Nurses' Alumni organizations. We also provide advice to NHS staff on the management, care and disposal of recent records.
Our primary purpose is to support and inform the day to day work of the NHS, but our collections are of interest in the fields of the history of medicine, social, architectural and local history, and family history. They are also used for medical research.
WE HAVE MOVED
- After over 35 years at the Warneford Hospital Oxfordshire Health Archives has moved to the Oxfordshire History Centre at St Luke’s Church, Cowley, where users will have access to our collections through the History Centre Search Room. We continue to be a separate NHS funded service.
- Now that all our collections have arrived at the History Centre we have to complete the work needed to make them available. New location lists must be prepared and clear guidance provided for the staff of the History Centre. Until this work is completed access to our material must be made by contacting us in the first instance. We ask for your patience whilst our two (very) part time staff carry out the necessary work.
